Woosh! Well, preparations are underway for China. I'd like to take this time to introduce you to, well, me and also Christina, my 好朋友 (hǎo péng you - good friend) who I will be traveling with in China.

There's Christina on the left, me on the right... this was when we won 2nd place at the 2006 Chinese Speech Competition! I'm from Oklahoma and love to try new things and learn about other cultures. Christina's from Chicago and is SUPER smart, funny, and adventurous, so it's lucky that we both will be at the same school! She is studying at East China Normal University in Shanghai from June 25 for 4 weeks.

I was just informed that I have been accepted to a similar program at Shanghai University but it will be starting later than Christina's so we're not sure exactly how our August travel extravaganza will work! We are planning on going to Beijing, Xi'an, Huangshan, and Tibet during our stay in China, as well as anywhere in between that sounds interesting!

From September until January we will be based at Yunnan Normal University in Kunming, but everything until then is kind of up in the air! Any suggestions'd be appreciated, we're excited to go to China and absorb all we can, and I hope you enjoy reading and watching our journey.
